Re: Is there anyone nr Southampton that's a whiz with alignm

My hero :D I'm flexi time wise too, I've got a replacement mirror on the way from HPC should be with me tomorrow but best not to make a firm arrangement until that's here. As soon as but no rush sort of thing, I can get up and running on my own but might aswell get some tips on fine tuning I'm sure ...

Is there anyone nr Southampton that's a whiz with alignment

I've somehow managed to crack my no1 mirror and could do with some 1-1 advice on alignment and cleaning, I'm using an LS3020. I've never felt the machine was running at it's 100% potential due to not being able to get the alignment quite right so I wouldn't mind taking advantage of having to replace...

Re: Is my Pot on its way out ?

Hi Peter,

mine failed the other week, stuck on full power machine is only 3 months old.

You can test the resistance by putting a multi meter across the back of it, 5 minute job to pull the old one and solder a new one in HPC shipped one for next day delivery :)

Re: LS3020 failed pot?

Looks like it's the pot, I've put a multi meter on it and it's running at full power constantly, will get hold of HPC tomorrow and hopefully get one sent down.

Thanks for your help :D

Re: LS3020 failed pot?

Hi Dave, no I've checked that already, pulled the knob off and turned the spindle by hand with no change in power output, also made sure the pot hadn't come lose and turning with the spindle behind the control panel. Trying to do a bit of damage limitation by sorting it today rather than HPC for the...

LS3020 failed pot?

Hi guys, I'm not 100% sure but think my potentiometer may have failed on my LS3020. The machines at my fathers so I need to pop up today to double check but from what he's saying the power is stuck on and won't adjust, amp meter showing power and burns through paper when engraving even with the powe...

Laminate - film on or film off ?

Here's me with the 1st of the dumb questions  I've been playing with cutting and engraving engraving laminate to get used to the machine without any major problems, but could do with some pointers for fine tuning. I'm getting a much better finish with the protective film left on for the cutting...

Re: Boo

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have a play with Newlydraw and find the limitations on that 1st, more than likely that will do what I'm looking to do initially by the sounds of it, walk 1st, run later if I don't fall over :D You can't beat a good forum, suppliers can only help so much where they're no...

Hi Folks hope to be taking delivery of a LS3020 in the next 48 hours so thought I best say hi on here before I start with the dumb questions over the next week or so while learning the ropes. I've been working with Photoshop for years and although I've not done anything involving vector and raster I...
